Community

We are proud of our contribution to the community, we were created by locals and are a part of the local community so it’s only normal that we give back to the same community that created Companion Credit Union!

Sponsorship

The Companion Grant Scheme is designed exclusively for our members, it’s just another way we can give back to our members and share $20,000 in sponsorship funds across numerous local groups.

The Companion Grant’s are open for applications once a year, the 2009 applications have been granted. You can register your interest for the 2010 grants here.

Events

We encourage you to post your local events on our community calendar, from your local scouts fundraiser, fetes and charity days we want you to be able to advertise these events to raise awareness and hopefully attendance at your event!

Here’s some recent examples of how we have helped the community;

Swansea Coast Guard:

Swansea Coast Guard

Swansea Coast Guard

Recently the Swansea Coast Guard (a Companion member) came to Companion Credit Union for help, we assisted them by composing a business case which was then submitted to the government for a grant. As a result the Swansea Coast Guard received $50,000 off the government.

The Coast Guard wanted to use the government grant to promote their new 24/7 operations and to attract new volunteers to man the operations, again they asked for Companion’s help. Companion is currently working on behalf of the Swansea Coast Guard with Sticky Advertising to create a new advertising campaign to promote the new 24/7 operation.

Hunter Student Visits NASA with Companion’s Help:

Nasa Space Camp

Nasa Space Camp

James Wilcox (a Companion member) is a 17 year old student, that recently approached Companion Credit Union for sponsorship. James was selected to attend a NASA space camp in the United States, here James was selected as group leader and competed in a team which had to create vehicles that could work in Mars and collect samples of rocks and earth. James’s team won the challenge and he has been asked to return to the camp again next year.
