Tutors are required for approximately 2 hours weekly. Students are situated around the Stirling area.

     Tutors need to have good literacy and numeracy skills, and have a genuine interest in working with people. Your patience and acceptance of others will be appreciated. Suitable for people 21+ and who may have their own transport.

    Special Olympics ACT is currently searching for coaches for Ten Pin Bowling, Basketball and Bocce. You will have a love of Ten Pin Bowling, Basketball or Bocce and want to pass on your knowledge and passion to our Athletes.

    We currently have successful programs on the North Side of Canberra, and are looking to expand the programs to the South Side.   3. Puppy Trainers – Adelaide

    Take a puppy or training dog into your home and heart.

    Puppy Raising: Puppy Raisers play a very important role in the development of future Guide Dogs or Autism Assistance Dogs, by providing loving care and socialisation for a puppy for around one year.

    We need Puppy Raisers who: Work part-time or less / Have a secure yard / Can devote time to the puppy / Have a drivers licence and car / Are prepared for the puppy to live and sleep inside the house.

    Home Boarding: Our training dogs need loving homes for around six months, while they are in formal training.  These dogs are picked up each weekday morning from the Home Boarder’s backyard to go to “school” and are returned each afternoon for love and care.

    We need Home Boarders who: Live close to the Adelaide CBD / Have a secure yard / Have a drivers licence and car / Are prepared for the dog to live and sleep inside the house.

    Our staff provide regular input and support to our volunteers, and all food and medical expenses are met by Guide Dogs SA.NT click here to register your interest.


  4. Social Support Volunteer – ACT

    Volunteers Needed

    People with Multiple Sclerosis, whether they live at home or in supported accommodation services, need to feel connected.

    Be a conduit to a bigger world where you can share your love of books, politics, talking, scrapbooking, movies, shopping, walking the dog, having coffee or just hanging out.

    MS ACT needs visitors who are willing to chat about their lives and listen to someone else’s for a couple of hours each fortnight. They currently have 4 clients who are looking for social support.

    Share your world with someone who needs a friendly visitor and your world will be the richer for it!

    You will need your own car and travel expenses will be reimbursed. No special skills required – just your caring and sharing attitude and ability to listen well.
