Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre (Kaarakin) is a not-for-profit, independent conservation organisation with a focus on saving the black cockatoo. As well as cockatoos, Kaarakin also has galah’s, emu’s, a black swan, kangaroos, wallabies and dingoes on site.
Kaarakin is in need of responsible drivers to transport birds and animals for treatment as well as to be able to assist in evacuating the centre in the event of bushfire.
Volunteers must be aged 18 years or over, have a current Drivers licence with a good driving record. Volunteers will be provided with induction and training in animal handling. Reimbursement for petrol costs is also available.
