What Recession??

I’m a mum with a mortgage and 3 boys (4 if you include the hubby!). Over the last month with interest rates reducing I’ve found myself asking- WHAT recession?

 

With more money in my pocket from reduced interest rates I’ve been doing my very best to restimulate the economy (a certain major retailer D…J…..is benefiting from this!)

 

But seriously with most mortgage holders $400-500 better off a month, I am asking you what recession?? Where are we feeling it?

 

Me I’m loving the low interest rates I will try and restrain myself…

    hello shopaholic!

    I partyly agree…and this is why- while the younger part of the population is certainly benefitting from low interest rates (and i am one of them!).

    What about the older generations watching their Super deplete? I know of people in my parents generation that have been watching their super spiral down. So its not all flowers and roses!

    What can they do to help take control of their super?

    Hi Cas
    Sounds like you and jan are both having a great time with your extra money.
    The irony is, that spending all that extra that you are enjoying from the reduced interest rates actually is helping (or at least should in time) help your Mum and Dads super. As money goes back into the economy, it has a positive effect on retail and shares… This in turn helps with return on super!

    I think a good line may be, spend…but only what you can comfortably afford.. Enjoy!

    Our home business was really affected by the Economic recession, we have to cut jobs just to cover up our losses. fortunately, we have already recovered. ,

    I am very sorry to hear that you had to cut jobs during last year, but I am very glad your business has recovered.
